Recommended Movies
When you read watch a great film, magical worlds become available. These things may even change your view of the world and help you become more aware and experience an enlightened view of life. It comes down to our willingness to get the teachings and take them deeper into our psyche or understanding. We can easily start to speed up our path to our own self-discovery when we integrate the messages in and behind the books and movies into our lives. We would love to hear about some books and movies that have helped you go deeper into your consciousness and shift your perspective.
As you watch a movie, perhaps for the second time you may want to actively become more conscious. A suggestion-sit comfortably, breathe deeply and get aware to your breathing. Notice how your breathe goes in an out throughout your entire body. Notice any spots where you feel any tension or may even be holding your breath. Let your breath travel to these spots. Breath into any part of your body that may feel strained or tense. When you are calm and centered, begin watching the movie. Observe how the movies affect your breath or even your heart activity. Reflect on the characters, the images, ideas, conversations and characters. Work on not analyzing your experience. You want to just be present with your experience.
Afterward, remember if and when your breathing changed throughout the movie. Did something trigger you or throw you off balance? Given that how we are and things that affect us do so in life and work, something could have affected you in the film that is similar to whatever affects you in your daily life.
Notice any symbolism. Notice how you identify with characters or scenes. Reflect on this during your meditation time.

Tips for Ingesting Good Books:
-
You can sit down with both feet on the floor and visualize what you are going to get from the book and how even possibly how you might incorporate those learnings into your life practically.
-
Shuffle through the book from beginning to end with that intention in mind.
-
Breathe deeply, scan the book holding it just out of your peripheral vision so it’s blurry but yet you catch some of the words.
-
Then sit down and begin to read it with intentionality breathing normally and calmly.
-
If you are a color coding person and you can use colored highlighters in the book, do so and write notes in the margin. They may be helpful for quick reference.
A good book that is timely may change your entire perspective on a situation.
